As we do not have records for the position of all meters and stop cocks, we advise that you locate these yourselves. They can usually be found in obvious location such as
- Gas meters – In cupboard under stairs, in cupboard in hallway, high level in hallway or in external meter cupboard
- Gascock – Always adjacent to meter
- Electricity meter- In cupboard under stairs, in cupboard in hallway, high level in hallway or in external meter cupboard
- Water stopcock – Under kitchen sink, in cupboard under stairs, in hallway.
- Water meter – Usually in pavement outside building
We recommend you try to locate your meter and stopcocks on moving into a property so you know the location for future use. We also recommend you take meter readings when you move in.
